1964 Mercury Comet Cyclone, red inside and red outside, 289 cu in, 4-speed Borg Warner. Has tear drop hood, 8 quart oil pan, B/FX style headers, roller tip rocker arms, big Crane camshaft,
and has no mufflers or exhaust system. The car is very loud. The transmission was rebuilt 2 years ago and has Hurst shifter. The rear end is 8" running 4.10 gears with a spool and stock axles.
The car has painted wheels with old 7-1/2" wide X 14 cheater slicks, and 6.95 X 14 Goodyear power cushion front tires. No wheel covers or caps included. The interior is re-done stock for seats, carpet and headliner; but the door panels are original, the right side back one having a couple of tears. All glass is original and very nice condition, as well as most chrome is either NOS or very nice original. All lights work, heater is out of car and the doors need new weather strips. The paint on this car is single stage enamel done over 15 years ago and has held up very nice. The wheel lip moldings are missing but the rocker moldings are there. Front bumper is fiberglass and the rear is an early take off which is almost NOS, but is actually used.
This is a true 1964 Comet Cyclone, serial # 4J27Kxxxxxx; which came from California in 1994 and has never been driven in the winter or salt. Completely rust free except for one tiny hole in deck lid. The car must have had slight damage to the left front fender wing(headlight area) many years before I purchased the car. There is a new piece welded in place.
This car runs in low 14 second times, but was built to drive on the street at car shows. Mileage is over 100,000 miles. If you have any questions, please contact me through this ebay auction.
